Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) – 1 year

The one year Presea Training course for Graduates (GME) is a course leading to Class IV Marine Engineer Officer Certificate of competency, awarded by the Directorate General of Shipping (Government of India), after six months of sea service, enabling the cadets to become Marine Engineers on board Merchant Naval ships anywhere in the world. This course is strictly residential.

Admission Process

Category (a) – A full time BE / B. Tech in Engineering streams e.g. Mechanical and Automation, Mechanical and Electronics, Mechanical and Automobile etc. However, the word “Mechanical” should be first indicating that mechanical engineering is the core and the second subject is the elective.

OR

Category (b) – All Naval Architecture streams e.g. Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ship building, etc. However, the word “Naval Architecture” should be first indicating that Naval Architecture is the core and the second subject is the elective.

OR

Category (c) – BE /B.Tech in Marine Engineering.

OR

Category (d) – BE /B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

The above B.E/ B.Tech degree or any other higher degree such as 5 year integrated

M.E. / M.Tech degree must have been obtained from AICTE approved institute or the IITs’ or from University Engineering colleges (Colleges directly run by University). However, candidates from the combination streams i.e. Category (a) and (b) will have to pass Part ‘A’ subject of both MEO Class-IV and MEO Class-II grade of examinations. These candidates may be considered for exemption from appearing in subject of Mathematics and Applied Mechanics. Candidates from Category (c) and (d) are exempted from appearing in all subjects of part A, off both MEO Class-IV and MEO Class-II grade of examinations.

College must have AICTE or UGC approval.

Age: Maximum 28 years of age at the time of commencement of the course.

Entry Requirements

Eligible candidates will be called for an Online Interview and have to give an Online Test.

Panel Interview

Selected candidates will undergo a stringent medical examination with a DGS Approved doctor. Same can also be done with our in house DGS Approved Doctor.
